River Access in Rockland County

Hook Mountain/Nyack Beach State Park
End of North Broadway, Upper Nyack
Riverfront State Park with a picnic area, beach and 5 miles of scenic
trail for walking, bicycling and fishing. Follows Hudson Shoreline
beneath cliffs of the Palisades. Runs from the Village of Upper Nyack
to the Village of Haverstraw. Parking fee or Empire Pass required
Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends. Free parking off-season.

Memorial Park, Nyack
End of Depew Avenue at the river, Nyack

Riverfront park with boat launch, fishing pier, benches and picnic
tables along the river. Basketball court, baseball field, tennis
court, grassy field, butterfly garden, gazebo, children's playground
(with sprinkler during Summer months). Park access free of charge.
Open dawn to dusk year round. Call 845-353-1682 for more information.

Claremont Pier
End of Main Street at the river (adjacent to Claremont apartments), Nyack

Beautiful view of Hudson River from large waterfront pier. Open to
public 6am-10pm year round for strolling, fishing. Free access.

Emeline Park
End of Main Street, Haverstraw

Waterfront park with paved walks, benches, picnic tables, track for
walking or jogging, children's playground (with sprinkler during
Summer months). Open dawn to dusk year round. For more information

Haverstraw Bay County Park
From Railroad Avenue, continue onto Grassy Point Road.

Make right onto Gagan Road & follow signs to park.
Double-wide boat launch (for fee), fishing piers, steel-reinforced
pedestrian footbridge over river inlet, walking trails, children's
playground, open-air pavilion, picnic tables, concession stand and
restrooms. Home to Rockland County September 11 Memorial. Open
sunrise until sunset year rouns. Park access free of charge

Piermont Pier
From Piermont Avenue in Piermont, follow signs to Pier.

Paved pier extending a mile into the river with nature preserve and
views along the way. Open for walking, bicycling, fishing 6am to 9pm
year round. Free parking at baseball field parking lot. Yearly pass
required for car access to pier. For more information call Piermont

Stony Point Lighthouse
Park Road off Route 9W (at Stony Point Battlefield), Stony Point

Oldest lighthouse on Hudson River, built in 1826. Located at Stony
Point Battlefield National Historic Site. Short walk to point
overlooking the river. Magnificent view of the Hudson Valley from
lighthouse. Tours available. For more information call 845-786-2521.
Open Monday through Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 12noon to 5pm.
Admission $2 adults, $1 children & seniors. $5 parking fee on
weekends. Re-opens July 15, 2004.
